Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52 - My Experience
.....or lack thereof.
Here's the sad story. For Christmas this year I received alot of gift cards. One of which I used to by the Belkin n52. I was very excited about it, and researched for a few days on different set-ups that people had used for World of Warcraft. I wrote down multiple set-ups that I would try, moved my UI around to fit the buttons, and waited.
Well, today it came.
I ran down to my mailbox this morning to get the package it had come in, then ran back upstairs. First of all, running up and down 7 flights of stairs after having been awake for 5 minutes is not very fun, but that's besides the point. I installed the Mac OS X software and toggled around all the buttons to the set-up I had assume I wanted. I saved them, then logged into WoW. I decided since my main is my shaman, I would test it out on him first. So I loaded him up and ran the Warcraft profile on the gamepad. I tried some of the buttons and was very satisfied with the feel. The button quality felt no better than the cheap, standard Dell keyboard I am using, but I could deal with it. I realized that the set-up I had was not optimal, so I went into the configurations of the n52 and switched it up a little bit. This is when my day turned into frustration: The first line of keys (1-6 out of 14) wouldn't register. I tried over and over - different buttons, different apps - but no luck. Distraught, I gave up after configuring and researching for around 5 hours. Belkin, I feel I must add, has almost no real support on their site, save ONE - that's right 1! - troubleshooting tip, which had nothing to do with any REAL problems you could have.
The worst part is, I had been debating over whether to get the n52 OR get just a gaming keyboard (my first choice being the 800lb-gorilla of gaming rigs - the Logitech G15) but decided to get this because the majority of good gaming keyboards do not support Mac. To add to the misery and prove to me my mistake, while searching for help, I came arcoss an app that can allow the special features of the G15, as well as many other top gaming keyboards.
After all that I can simple say one thing - hurray for Murphy's Law in full effect :P
Iam sorry to here about this difficult situation. If it makes you feel any better..dell sent me my printer without any cords or directions just the machine. no one would help me either...they told me i was supposed to buy the cords seperately. needless to say Dell final sent me the cords after crying and constant calls to their customer service. Bottom line: The squeeky wheel gets the oil! As long as you are courteous and nice, u can ask for anything...so call the company, kindly tell them your problem and disappointment, and they will right their wrong.
By the way..ur cute when ur angry ;-)
